Very fascinating. Extremely well done. In Scotts Mills, Oregon where I work in the historical society museum, we had a Quaker Colong in the late 1800s through the 1920s, the Friends community was made up of people who came to Oregon from all over the midwest and possibly Pennsylvania. We had many from Iowa. They were sold city lots or small farms of 20 acres an expected to make a living for a family. It is interesting to learn of the struggles of the Friends population in Wales and the successes they made for themselves in America. The Friends camilies in Scotts Mills were very interested in furthering education for their children.

In the mid to late 60's my folks and their friends would take us kids and our friends to the park on summer evenings. My buddy and I were on the Wild Mouse once and our car got stuck near the top of the incline and we had to climb down. Oh, did we think we were hotshots after that. It was always a good time there and I remember lots of trees and the lake and they usually played great rock music throughout the park. I think the last time we went was around 1970. It was very sad years later to learn the park was torn down. In the early 1980's I poked around a lot looking for remnants of the Liberty Bell Trolley Route. I was so glad to fine this site and see all the park and other pictures. You've done a superb job putting it all together. THANKS!

My sister and I graduated from West Point Elementary School in the early 70s. I have some wonderful memories of that school along with West Point Park. I am sad to see that both are now gone, but I am grateful that someone kept them alive in pictures.

Hello All,
I love coming to this site and reading all the fun facts about the village I live just outside of. I have also been a firefighter here in West Point for 16 years. I am reaching out to see if anyone has any vintage items, documents, photos, ect. of the West Point Volunteer Vol. Fire Company (other than what is found here on this site). It would be greatly appreciated. I am interested in copying, photographing, or scanning any items you may have. All items would be returned to you.

Best Regards,
Matthew C. Huff

Hi, I found your classical music channel from iTunes an Derek Toms often listen on line when using my Mac. I really enjoy your mix of classical music and your ad-free, non commercial style. West Point looks like a pleasant place to live and I was most impressed by your town Website. All good wishes for a successful
future.

Hello! My husband and I just moved into West Point, and I really enjoyed reading up on the history of this great, small village! We truly feel so special to live in a town with such an interesting past. I plan to enlarge some of the old photos to display in our new home.

I would love to get involved in helping to restore this lovely place. Are there any opportunities to do so?

Thank you for putting together such an informational site. It kept me quite entertained on this cold, snowy night.

Admin reply: Hello Jillian, Welcome to West Point!
